Two people, one phone, no internet.
A face-to-face conversation translator that runs entirely on your device. Put the phone between you, each side gets its own mic button, and every sentence appears in both languages. Nothing is sent anywhere.
The moment you need it is the moment it fails
Translation apps want signal. You need them in the places signal is worst — a market abroad, a basement, a plane, a country where your data plan quietly gave up.
And handing your phone back and forth, one person tapping through a language picker each turn, is not a conversation. It's a queue.
The whole model lives on the phone
TranslateOff runs a translation model locally. After a one-time download, it never touches the network again — no signal, no account, no server logging what you said. The screen is split and the far half is rotated to face the other person, so you both read your own language at the same time, right side up.
How it works
Download once
The model transfers to your phone one time, over wifi. After that the app is fully offline, permanently.
Put the phone down between you
The screen splits in two. The far half is rotated 180° so it faces the other person, each half in its own language.
Tap and talk
Each side has its own mic button. Speak, and the sentence appears on both halves in both languages — and can be read back out loud.
What's inside
Nothing leaves the phone
The translation model runs on-device. Your conversation isn't uploaded, logged, or used to train anything, because it never goes anywhere.
Works with no signal at all
Airplane mode, dead zone, foreign SIM you never got around to buying — none of it matters after the one-time setup.
Built for two people
A rotated far half and a mic button per speaker. Nobody has to reach over and re-pick the language every turn.
Reads it out loud
Optional speech on every translated turn, for when the other person would rather hear it than read it. Tap any past line to hear it again.
Translates as it goes
Text streams in as the model works, so you're reading the answer before it's finished instead of watching a spinner.
